I think its so awesome that I found this book at barnes and noble. its basically a book about the exact topic that i’m interested in. its so cool because it feels like someone else out there read the same book as me, and was just as interested in it as i was. too bad they got their first…i could have written that book in a few years :)

and then here is another illustration of the fairy…

For my Pathfinder Project Topic I would like to do a study on the origins and evolution of the Fairy Melusine, a fictional character used in many poems throughout literary history.
I chose this idea, based on the Poem, Fairy Melusine, written by a fictional poet in the novel Possession, by A.S. Byatt.
The Fairy Melusine, is a half woman- half serpent who marries a wealthy king in France, on the condition that he will never interrupt her on Saturdays during her bath hour. What he does not realize is that during this time, she uncovers her half-serpent form.
